Alternatives of drainage engineering in tidal flood prone areas using eco-infrastructure approach in North Pekalongan

چکیده

Tidal flood is one of the most persistent disaster in Indonesia. It often occurs during high tide, which can be exacerbated by extreme tidal surges, land subsidence, and sea level rise. The coastal area Pekalongan, especially Panjang Wetan, impacted areas May 2022. Data from Indonesia Geospatial Agency showed that maximum spring tides elevation reached + 0.4 to +0.5 m above mean level. Currently, although dike has been installed some parts, floods are still occurring. On other hand, interest on nature-based solution concept globally increasing. Therefore, this study aimed explore possibility eco-infrastructure applications mitigating flooding. analysis was done through numerical simulation using HEC-RAS model divided into three different scenarios: existing condition, grey infrastructure scenario, a combination blue scenario. results indicated drainage conditions not sufficient accommodate flood. could restrain overtopping, while proposed address issue mainly providing buffer zone prevent water entering settlement areas.

Delineating flood prone areas using a statistical approach

8 Floods are frequent and widespread in Italy and pose a severe risk for the population. Local administrations commonly use flow propagation models to delineate the flood prone areas. These modeling approaches require a detail geo-environmental data knowledge, intensive calculation and long computational times. Conversely, statistical methods can be used to asses flood hazard over large areas, ...
